Hello all! My name is Victor Vazquez. My name was almost Odilo, like my father, but my mother decided on Victor. I am a post production intern at Kirschenbaum Productions. I graduated from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia with a degree in Humanities and Science. I studied abroad in Florence, Italy for a semester. Some of my favorite foods of Italy were the pizza and the gelato; however, my favorite Italian dessert is Panna Cotta. I also loved the art and architecture.
I have an older sister. I also have a dog named Nico who is a mixed Black Lab about the size of a Beagle with a curly tail. My favorite color is blue. Throughout my youth I have visited family in Spain, in a region called Galicia, which is right above Portugal. I would go every summer and stay at my grandparents’ house. One summer when I was probably 5 years old, I was attracted to a bee, and of course I wanted to catch it, or at least smash it with my hands. Finally, I got a hold of it, and that was probably the first time I learned that bees had stingers and that they hurt. My grandma would always say that there were wolves in the woods at night; that kept me out of the woods at night.
When I saw the movie, City of God, I fell in love with Brazilian Portuguese, and I started to learn the language. It wasn’t too difficult to pick it up because I can read, write, and understand Spanish fluently, but the vocabulary is still very different. Of course, when I was in Italy I learned some Italian.
In the past, I took piano and guitar lessons. I also created some pieces using computer software. My favorite song right now is “Painted Sun in Abstract” written by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, which appears in The Social Network movie score. The song initiates in the movie during the scene when a colleague of Mark Zuckerberg approaches Mark and asks him about a girl who is in one of his classes to see if she’s in a relationship and whether or not she’s looking for one. At this moment, Mark realizes one of the final touches for his Facebook creation. The song commemorates that realization.
My favorite movie would have to be The Aviator with Leonardo DiCaprio playing aviator, filmmaker, and business magnate, Howard Hughes. Some of my other favorite movies include The Social Network, The Descendants, Raging Bull, Saving Private Ryan, Sideways, The King’s Speech, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Forrest Gump, The Artist, Milk, Starsky and Hutch, and Midnight in Paris. I own the first 5 seasons of the TV series Scrubs on DVD, so I used to watch that a lot. I aspire to work as a film/video editor.
Have a great day, Victor
