Now if only I could figure out how to upload images and control the layout and size, this would look better. Hang on. Once I’m back in NY with my dream team, we’ll get this going.
Chelsea and I are up on this amazing remote fishing island, Grand Manan. One gas station, one grocery and around 2500 people. Yesterday went to visit a potter, Liza McDonald on a neighboring island where the population is 165 people. I find it fascinating being here not only because of the serenity and beauty but also because of the people. I’m visiting with people who have barely left the island, never been to a movie theater and completely happy and content. Families and friendships are tight. There are some islands where there are no ferries going there and either you wait for the tide to go down and turn on your 4 wheel drive and go across the mud or you get on a fishing boat. Talk about being in a place where one can escape all the distractions and temptations of a big city like New York. Tomorrow, we are going whale watching. Pictures to follow. I understand it’s mating season.
